Laguna’s Trisha Martinez is Miss Tourism Philippines 2021, crowned in Olongapo

Trisha O. Martinez, 23, of Pila, Laguna, Philippines is Miss Tourism Philippines 2021. She was crowned during the Miss World Philippines 2021 coronation night in Olongapo City, Philippines on October 3, 2021.

The Miss World Philippines 2021 coronation night was held at the Subic Bay Exhibition and Convention Center in the Subic Special Economic and Freeport Zone in Olongapo City. It was the 10th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects the Philippines’ Miss World candidate.

Martinez is a Doctor of Dental Medicine student at the College of Dentistry of the University of the East in Manila, Metro Manila, Philippines. She was Miss University of the East 2018.

According to Miss World Philippines national director Arnold Vegafria, Martinez will represent the Philippines at Miss Tourism Universe 2021 in Lebanon. The date of the competition has yet to be announced.

Broadcast live by KTX, the Miss World Philippines 2021 coronation night was hosted by Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2018 Alyssa Muhlach, 25, Mister World Asia and Oceania 2019 Jody Baines “JB” Saliba, 28, Xian Lim, 32, and RJ Ledesma. Including Martinez, 44 candidates competed for seven titles.

It was Tracy Maureen Perez, 28, of Cebu City who won the Miss World Philippines 2021 title. The other winners were Reina Hispanoamericana Filipinas 2021 Emmanuelle Vera, 26, of Taguig City, Miss Eco Philippines 2021 Kathleen Joy Paton, 24, of Aklan, Miss Eco Teen Philippines 2021 Tatyana Alexi Austria, 18, of Parañaque City, Miss Environment Philippines 2021 Michelle Arceo, 23, of Quezon City and Miss Multinational Philippines 2021 Shaila Mae Rebortera, 25, of Talisay City, Cebu.

There were 16 judges including Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., 55, Harry Roque, 54, Teejay Marquez, 28, David Licauco, 27, Elise Joson, 25, Youth Football League president Mike Atayde and Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, 52, who served as the chairman of the board of judges. In the question-and-answer portion, Atayde asked Martinez, “What advice or message can you give the new generation of voters?”

“In this time of crisis, my advice to people is that to keep on going on,” Martinez answered. “We all have dreams and at this time, we might feel that our dreams are on hold but they’re not gone. With grit and determination, those dreams will become a reality. Just hold on.”
