Dublin, Ireland’s Ian Garry earns 1st UFC win, knocks out Jordan Williams in New York City


Ian “The Future” Garry, 23, of Dublin, Ireland is one of the winners at “UFC 268.” It marked his first victory in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

Featuring 14 mixed martial arts matches, “UFC 268” was held at the Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, United States on November 6, 2021. In the fifth bout of the evening, Garry fought Jordan “Bomaye” Williams, 31, of Santa Rosa, California, USA in the welterweight division.

Garry is 6’3″ tall. Williams stands 6’0″.

Mike Beltran served as the referee. He stopped the welterweight contest after 4 minutes and 59 seconds in the first round when Garry knocked out Williams via punches.

“UFC 268” marked Garry’s UFC debut. The victory improved his professional mixed martial arts debut to 8 wins and 0 loss.

On the other hand, Williams now has 9 wins, 6 loss and 1 No Contest. “UFC 268” marked his third bout and third consecutive loss in the UFC after knocking out Gregory “Robocop” Rodrigues, 29, of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in “Dana White’s Contender Series 2020” Week 7 on September 15, 2020.


In August 2021, Garry announced that he has joined Sanford MMA in Deerfield, Florida, USA to prepare for his UFC debut. He made his professional MMA debut in 2019.

On November 5, 2021, Conor “The Notorious” McGregor, 33, of Dublin took to Twitter to wish Garry luck. The former is a former featherweight and lightweight champion in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship and the UFC.


“We just shocked the world,” Garry said right after his first UFC win. “The Irish are back, baby. I’ve a lot to learn. I’m 23 years of age. We’re taking over the division.”

The undefeated Irish MMA fighter is also an iPlaySafe app brand ambassador. Before joining the UFC, he won seven bouts in Cage Warriors Fighting Championship.
