Both Mark T. McCloskey and his wife Patricia N. McCloskey are personal-injury lawyers. They run the McCloskey Law Center from their house along Portland Place, a private street in the Central West End of St. Louis, Missouri, United States.

The house is a Renaissance-style palazzo dubbed the Niemann Mansion. It is currently appraised at $1.15 million.

It was in 1912 when the original owners of the house, Edward Faust and his wife Anna Busch Faust, moved in. In an interview with St. Louis Magazine in 2018, Mark said he met Edward and Anna’s daughter Audrey Faust Wallace, who celebrated her society debut in that house in 1916.

“When we first bought the house and I was here on the weekend working on it, I saw two big black cars pull up in front and a bunch of people get out, including one really old lady,” Mark said of Audrey. “This was probably 1989 when she would have been about 90 years old. She came in with her attendants and some relatives and walked through the house when it was still empty. I asked her if the rumor that we’d been told about the ballroom was true and she said yes.”

On June 28, 2020, Mark and Patricia made headlines after they stood outside the house and pointed guns at around 300 Black Lives Matter protesters who were en route to St. Louis mayor Lyda Krewson‘s house to demand her resignation. This was due to the mayor’s decision to release the names and addresses of residents who had suggested defunding the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.

During the confrontation with the protesters, Mark was dressed in a pastel pink polo shirt and khaki pants while brandishing a large assault weapon, an AR-15 rifle. Here are 13 more facts about him:

  1. He graduated magna cum laude from Southern Methodist University (SMU) Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas, USA.
  2. He obtained his Texas license on January 17, 1986.
  3. He and Patricia bought their St. Louis mansion in February 1988.
  4. He and Patricia got married in 1990 and renewed their wedding vows on April 24, 2011. They have one daughter.
  5. On March 24, 1992, he donated $1000 to Bush-Quayle ’92 Primacy Committee Inc.

He gave the Trump Make America Great Again Committee $500 on October 13, 2016, $500 on October 23, 2016, $1000 on October 27, 2016 and $500 on November 3, 2016.
  10. In June 2017, he gave $500 to Celeste Vossmeyer, an independent candidate for Ward 28 representative on the St. Louis Board of Aldermen in Missouri. On July 16, 2017, he donated $600 to the campaign of Steven Roberts Sr., who eventually lost his bid for Board of Aldermen. On October 17, 2019, he contributed $250 to the campaign of the son, Missouri representative Steven Roberts Jr. On June 29, 2020, the younger Roberts told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that he would send the $250 donation to Moms Demand Action.
  11. He represented African-American man Isaiah Forman, who was kicked and struck by St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department officer David Maas in April 2019 as shown in a dashcam footage.
  12. On June 17, 2021, he pleaded guilty to misdemeanor fourth-degree assault. He was ordered to pay a fine of $750. He was 64 years old when Missouri governor Mike Parson pardoned him and Patricia on July 30, 2021. From November 15-16, 2021, he and Patricia were in Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA to show support for Kyle Rittenhouse, who shot Anthony M. Huber, Joseph D. Rosenbaum and Gaige Paul Grosskreutz on August 25, 2020.
  13. He is running for election to the U.S Senate to represent Missouri. The Republican primary will be on August 2, 2022.

      1. The McClosket’s live in a State and City that has laws, they are, Open Carry. Stand Your Ground, and Right to protect your property. They have every right to have a gun and protect them selves against people entering on private property with some unknown intent.

But also yes, as you can see they were scared for their lifes and they carried legal guns on their private property to protect themselves. I feel sorry for them to get into this situation. On what presumption do a bunch of rabble get a pass to even look daggers at McCloskeys residents or Bethel OH, let alone make their unnegotiable Marxist Revolutionary demands?   17. Obviously many of the people making comments are not educated in thee law or constitution. In this country, we have the right to protect ourselves, our family and our property. In other countries you cannot own property, all property belongs to the state and no matter how hard you work, you can never own property. This is what socialism gets you.

  18. One can argue all they like about a rights of the McCloskey’s to stand in the front of their property banishing firearms. But it doesn’t change the fact it was a profoundly idiotic exercise to face off 300 protesters in this manner. And it is fair to say they weren’t motivated by fear for their lives or property but rather simple anger that people were on the street protesting in their gated community. To say nothing of the total lack of proper firearm handling (certainly on the part of Patricia McCloskey). If you don’t know how to safely handle a firearm – then don’t handle them! They are dangerous enough in safe hands.
