The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a semi-arid country in Western Asia. Situated at the crossroads of Asia, Africa and Europe, it is bordered by Iraq, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Syria and the West Bank of Palestine.

Since 1948, Jordan has been accepting refugees from neighboring countries in conflict. On December 14, 1955, the Arab country became a member of the United Nations.

Bisher Al Khasawneh, 52, is the incumbent and 74th prime minister of Jordan. He assumed office on October 12, 2020.
