Representing Latvia and Ireland, Matiss Zaharovs, 23, is ready to redeem himself after his first ever professional mixed martial arts loss. He is set to showcase his fighting skills again in his fourth outing in the Bahrain-based MMA promotion BRAVE Combat Federation.
Featuring nine bouts, “BRAVE CF 56” at the BelExpo Centar in Belgrade, Serbia on December 18, 2021. In the sixth bout of the evening, he will fight Belgrade’s very own Borislav Nikolić, 28, in the bantamweight division.
“BRAVE CF 56” marks Nikolić’s second BRAVE CF fight. Both he and Zaharovs are coming out of their respective first professional MMA loss.
On April 1, 2021, Nikolic made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 50” at the Arad Fort in Bahrain. He was submitted via guillotine choke by Brad “Superman” Katona, 29, of Dublin, Ireland.
Zaharovs made his professional MMA debut in 2018 and joined BRAVE CF in 2019. When he made his BRAVE CF debut at “BRAVE CF 29” at the Khalifa Sports City Arena in Isa Town, Bahrain on November 15, 2019, he knocked out Hussain “Iron” Maki, 28, of Manama, Bahrain.
On July 27, 2020, Zaharovs earned his second victory in BRAVE CF by knocking out Bilal “Borz” Tipsaev, 23, of Sweden at “BRAVE CF 36” at in Bucuresti, Romania. On March 25, 2021, the Latvian-Irish MMA fighter’s undefeated MMA record was broken when he lost via unanimous decision to Gamzat Magomedov, 27, of Russia at “BRAVE CF 49: Super Fights” at Arad Fort in Arad, Bahrain.
