The Country of Curaçao is an island country in South America. The country includes the main island of Curaçao and the uninhabited island of Klein Curaçao.

Curaçao was part of the Curaçao and Dependencies colony from 1815 to 1954 and the Netherlands Antilles from 1954 to 2010 as Island Territory of Curaçao. On October 10, 2010, the territory became a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Lucille George Wout, 71, is the incumbent and second governor of Curaçao. She assumed office on November 4, 2013.
