Archeological finds in Middle Africa have been discovered dating back more than 100,000 years. The region has nine countries namely Angola, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, the Republic of the Congo and Sao Tome and Principe.

Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and the Republic of the Congo are Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) members, They share a common currency, which is the Central African CFA franc.
