Diamond Alvarez of Houston, Texas, United States spent the final hours of her life with her pet. She walking her dog Peanut at around 9:30 p.m. on January 11, 2022 when Frank Deleon Jr., 17, allegedly shot her 22 times in a park near her home in Houston.
Alvarez was 15 but the Houston Police Department initially reported that she was 16. Deleon was her boyfriend.
The girl’s family heard the gunshots. Shortly after, Peanut came back to their house scratching at the door.

That night, Alvarez went to that park to meet Deleon because she found out he was simultaneously in a romantic relationship with her and another girl, the Houston Police Department has learned. Alvarez was still alive when her family found her suffering from multiple gunshot wounds a couple of blocks from their house near a field used as a neighborhood park.
“My son found her,” Alvarez’s mother Anna Machado told Fox 26 Houston. “I tried CPR and I couldn’t bring her back. I tried so hard to keep her alive. I couldn’t.”
Responding paramedics from the Houston Fire Department pronounced Alvarez dead at the scene. Deleon allegedly fled on foot after fatally shooting her.
At around 6:00 p.m. on January 17, 2022, the Houston Police Department arrested Deleon. Just after 1:00 a.m. on January 18, 2022, he was charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail in Houston.
Deleon will make his first court appearance on January 19, 2022. His bond was set at $250,000.
“He doesn’t even deserve a high bond,” ABC News quoted Machado as saying. “He executed my daughter.”
