Daniel Day, 35, of Argyle, Washington County, New York, United States was arrested on August 5, 2021. He was charged with unlawfully possessing ammunition as a felon and illegally possessing a machinegun
That day, Federal Bureau of Investigation agents raided Day’s Argyle residence. They found the component parts necessary to readily assemble and create three improvised explosive devices, other firearms and ammunition, including a sawed-off shotgun, a submachinegun and a 3D-printed pistol without a serial number.
None of the firearms were registered to Day, who has a prior felony conviction for unlawfully possessing a firearm as a user of a controlled substance. After his arrest, he appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Christian F. Hummel, who ordered him detained.

On February 14, 2022, Day pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of destructive devices and to unlawful possession of other firearms and ammunition as a felon. He agreed to abandon all the bomb-making materials and chemicals, firearms, firearm parts and ammunition found at his Argyle residence.
On June 14, 2022, Day will appear in court in Albany, New York for his sentencing before Senior U.S. District Judge Thomas J. McAvoy. The Argyle resident faces up to 10 years in prison, a term of supervised release of up to three years and a fine of up to $250,000.
Robert Henke is the incumbent town supervisor of Argyle. Residents of the town are within the 21st congressional district, the 45th State Senate district and the 113th State Assembly district of New York.
On September 18, 2021, Argyle honored its Scottish heritage with a Thistle Day community celebration. Thistle is the national flower of Scotland.
