David Gerald Dues, 48, of Burton, Genesee County, Michigan, United States is a church security member. He is also a former heating, ventilation, air conditioning/refrigeration (HVAC) teacher at Mott Community College in Flint, Genesee County.
In February 2022, Dues traveled to have sex with someone he thought was a girl aged 15. Instead, he met up with the Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team (GHOST) and was arrested.
During the GHOST operation, detectives also found child and baby pornography on Dues’ phone. There may be more victims yet to come forward, according to Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson.
“He had pornography on his phone,” Swanson said of Dues. “(It was not just) child pornography but also baby pornography.”
On February 27, 2022, Dues was arraigned on one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes, 11 counts of using a computer to commit a crime and on 11 counts of child sexually abusive activity. Mott Community College terminated him after his arrest.
After posting a $23,000 cash bail, Dues was released. On March 10, 2022, he will attended a probable cause conference before 67th District Court Judge Christopher Odette.
