BRAVE International Combat Week has returned to Bahrain after a two-year long hiatus and crowdless events at BRAVE Combat Federation headquarters. Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Federation (BMMAF) president Mohammed Ali Qambar attended the opening ceremony at Khalifa Sports City in Isa Town, Bahrain.
Held at Khalifa Sports City from March 8-12, 2022, the BRAVE International Combat Week 2022 is organized by the BMMAF in cooperation with the International Martial Arts Mixed Federation (IMMAF) and the Khalid Bin Hamad Sports Organization (KHK SPORTS). Parts of the event are BRAVE CF’s 57th event and the first edition of MMA Super Cup, the largest amateur mixed martial arts tournament.
The ceremony was launched with the screening of a special film that included the successes achieved by Bahrain in sports with the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa and His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. After the film, the uniforms of the participating teams in the MMA Super Cup tournament presented by Green Hill were revealed.
Khalid welcomed all the participating delegations and wished everyone success. A short motivational movie was shown to the athletes participating in this event and the ceremony concluded with a fireworks display.
On March 9, 2022 at 9:00 am (GMT+3), the MMA Super Cup will start begin with the quarter-final matches. Team Oceania Champions will meet with Team Ireland, Team Mexico will meet with the Team Arab Champions, Team Kazakhstan will meet with Team Balkan Champions and Team Bahrain will meet with Team Tajikistan.

According to the tournament system, the competitions will be held in the single elimination system where four teams from the first round qualify for the semi-final matches that will be held on March 10, 2022. “BRAVE CF 57” will be on March 11, 2022 and the final match of the MMA Super Cup will be on March 12, 2022.
In the main event of “BRAVE CF 57”, Hamza “The Pride of Bahrain” Kooheji, 29, of Bahrain and Brad “Superman” Katona, 30, of Canada will compete for the BRAVE CF Bantamweight World Championship. Here is a recent interview with the latter:
