Miss South Dakota USA 2021 Caroline Pettey, 28, of Rapid City, South Dakota, United States will crown her successor at the Watertown Events Center in Watertown, South Dakota on April 9, 2022. It is the 66th edition of the state-level beauty pageant that selects South Dakota’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.

Currently, South Dakota has five Miss USA placements. Representing the state, Helen Youngquist finished in the Top 15 in 1958, Debra Ann Brickley finished in the Top 10 in 1974, Madison McKeown finished in the Top 12 in 2016 and Madison Nipe finished in the Top 5 in 2018.

Pettey was crowned Miss South Dakota USA 2021 on April 25, 2021. She finished in the Top 16 at Miss USA 2021 on November 29, 2021.
