1. He was 13 years older than his wife Caroline Crouch, who was born in the United Kingdom but raised in Alonissos, Thessaly, Greece. She is David Crouch and Susan Crouch‘s daughter. David is a former business executive from Liverpool, Merseyside, England, U.K. while Susan is originally from the Philippines.

3. In 2018, he and Caroline became lovers and got married without telling her family. They lived in a three-story maisonette in Glyka Nera, Athens, Greece. Eleni Mylonopoulou was their therapist.

At around 4:20 a.m. on May 11, 2021, he allegedly suffocated Caroline in front of Lydia inside their house in Glyka Nera then staged a burglary, killed their puppy Roxy, placed his sleeping daughter beside her dead mother and tied himself up. At around 6:17 a.m., he called their neighbor Lila and asked for help. During the investigation, he told police it was the fault of Albanian or Georgian criminals. Senior Greek detectives Konstantinos Hasiotis, Theodoros Theodorou and Nikos Davarinos then tortured Giorgi Khardzeishvili, then 36, of Georgia for a confession.
6. On May 16, 2021, he took to Instagram to share a photo of himself with Caroline walking along a beach on their wedding day. In the caption, he wrote in Greek, “Together forever. Have a nice trip, my love.”
7. On June 17, 2021, he was arrested after attending a memorial service for Caroline near her house in Alonissos. After eight hours of questioning, he confessed to killing Caroline but claimed that he pressed her against her pillow in May 2021 after she refused to apologize for pushing Lydia off her bed.

9. On May 16, 2022, a jury of three judges and four laypeople unanimously found him guilty of the pre-meditated murder, animal abuse and of two counts of perverting the course of justice.
