William Patrick “Will” Zalatoris is a professional golfer from San Francisco, California, United States. He has been playing golf professionally since 2018.

Zalatoris was born in San Francisco to Richard “Rick” Zalatoris, who was a pilot, and Catherine Zalatoris, who was a track and field athlete at the University of Oregon in Eugene, Oregon, USA. Here are 13 more things about Will:

  1. Raised in California, he played at California Golf Club of San Francisco, also known as Cal Club. When he was young, he also played baseball.
  2. From San Francisco, he and his family moved to Plano, Texas when his father took over a major mall renovation in Dallas, Texas. His girlfriend Caitlin Sellers is from Dallas. He is a foodie, which he got from his father who “worked for 35 years in retail and was trying all these different restaurants, trying to get chefs that owned their small shops to branch out and come to his properties,” he told Players Group Management.
  3. He went to Trinity Christian Academy in Addison, Texas and Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, USA.
  4. In 2009, he advanced to the round of 15 in the U.S. Junior Amateur Golf Championship. He was the champion in 2014.

  6. In 2013, he was the runner-up at The Classic at the Texarkana CC and won the Antigua National High School Tournament.

He was one of the 66 U.S. golfers who played in the 2020 United States Open Championship, which was held at the Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck, New York, USA from September 17–20, 2020. He tied for sixth at the 2020 U.S. Open, which was his first top-10 finish in a major championship.
  11. He tied for eighth at 2021 PGA Championship and was runner-up to 2021 Masters Tournament champion Hideki Matsuyama.
  12. He tied for sixth at 2022 Masters Tournament and was runner-up to 2022 PGA Championship winner Justin Thomas.
