- As a small business owner, he has been self-employed since 1990 when he started running a convenience store called White Hen Pantry in Ravinia, Highland Park.
- In 2000, Denise gave birth to their second child Robert Eugene “Bobby” Crimo III, who went on to become a rapper called Awake the Rapper.
- In 2007, 7-Eleven acquired his business White Hen Pantry. In 2008, he opened a coffee shop in Highland Park called Bob’s Pantry & Deli.
- On January 4, 2010, his mother Christine Caldarelli Crimo died at the age of 72. In 2010, he accused Denise of hitting him with a screwdriver on the left forearm but he recanted once he got to the police station.
- He was one of the five candidates vying for three Highland Park City Council seats on April 9, 2013, which were won by Dan Kaufman, Kim Stone and Alyssa Knobel. On March 19, 2013, Patch columnist Ed Brill wrote, “Crimo appears on a few signs around town, but thus far, not in real life – he hasn’t returned calls from Patch, didn’t show at the League of Women Voters, and has no website nor Facebook page. Clearly this is not a serious candidacy.”
- In a Chicago Tribune article published on June 19, 2013, he talked about Bob’s Pantry & Deli. He told the publication, “I am a people person. Interpersonal interactions are extremely important to me, and this venue allows me to have those interactions while providing a unique service to Highland Park and the surrounding communities.”
- On October 26, 2018, his father Robert “Bob” Crimo Sr. died at the age of 88 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. On November 28, 2018, he took to Facebook to announce that he was officially on the ballot for the 2019 mayoral seat of Highland Park. In late 2018, a lender sued him and Bob’s Pantry & Deli, alleging he owed more than $764,000. In March 2019, a judge ruled in the lender’s favor by default after he failed to appear in court.
- Running for Highland Park mayor, he lost to Nancy Rotering in 2019. On April 3, 2019, he wrote on Facebook, “This has been a great experience. I cannot thank my supporters enough. Although the polls weren’t in my favor, I will continue to do my best to further the improvement of Highland Park for my fellow neighbors. Thank you all so much again.”
- In December 2019, he sponsored his son Bobby’s application for a firearm owners identification (FOID) card. In the same month, HSBC Bank filed for foreclosure on his house in Highland Park, alleging he owed more than $460,000. In May 2022, a judge granted him a full waiver of court fees after he appeared in person and provided proof that he was receiving food stamps. On July 7, 2022, he filed a motion to block foreclosure of the house.
- In July 2020, he stopped making payments to NewRez LLC, according to the mortgage servicing company. In April 2022, the company filed to foreclose on a property he owns in Highwood, alleging he owed more than $197,000.
- On Twitter, he followed just one account, an archived account of 45th U.S. president Donald Trump. On May 27, 2022, he liked a tweet that read, “Protect the Second Amendment like your life depends on it.” On June 7, 2022, he wrote on Facebook, “It’s been brought to my attention that my account may have been hacked. Please do not accept any friend requests from me.”
- On the evening of July 3, 2022, he and his son Bobby talked about the mass shooting that happened that night in Denmark. Bobby called the gunman, then 22, an idiot, he told New York Post. On July 4, 2022, Bobby opened fire after a Fourth of July parade began in Highland Park, killing seven people and injuring 38 others. After the shooting, he and Denise retained Steven Greenberg as their lawyer.
- He was 57 years old when he was charged on December 16, 2022 with seven counts of reckless conduct causing great bodily harm, which is attorney George M. Gomez said were “baseless and unprecedented.” He surrendered to police and is set to appear in bond court on December 17, 2022.

The problem with your DEATH PENALTY theory is that it is UNEQUIVOCALLY A FLAWED SYSTEM which has been proven way too many times over. That LAW has killed a large number of innocent people based on FALSE TESTIMONIES PROSECUTOR MISCONDUCT AND WITHHELD EVEIDENCE. That at the end of the day doesnt hold any JUDGE PROSECUTOR COP OR FALSE WITNESSES ACCOUNTABLE. They get to have a MURDER ON THEIR HAND AND GO HOME. The cell phone and internet has led people to expect immediate answers to everything, and the immediate response becomes a way of life. Everyone wants immediate fifteen minutes of fame or an answer in a second. There should be one day a week all phones, TV, Internet connections are shut off for three hours, with only emergency messages allowed. A good time would be from 10:00AM to 1:00pm on Saturday.
