Georgetown, Texas’s James Robert Vanhouten arrested; McGregor’s Emiliee Solomon, Aysha Cross found

Both Emiliee Solomon, 14, and Aysha Cross, 14, live in McGregor, Texas, United States. On June 28, 2022, they ran away from home and went missing.

On July 4, 2022, police received a screenshot of a message asking for help allegedly from Cross’s Snapchat story. This prompted an Amber Alert to be issued for her and Solomon.

Pursuing several leads, investigators went to residences in McGregor, in Bellmead, Texas and in Belton, Texas. They ended up in a house in Georgetown, Texas where they arrested James Robert Vanhouten, 30, of Georgetown.

Vanhouten is accused of harboring Solomon and Cross. He will be charged with two counts of harboring a runaway child in Williamson County, Texas.

Solomon and Cross were “very happy to be rescued,” KTBX quoted McLennan County sheriff Parnell McNamara as saying. On July 5, 2022, the two girls were reunited with family members.

There could be more arrests in the coming days, according to the McLennan County Sheriff’s Office. Vanhouten has since been released from a set $10,000 bond.
