Hawaii’s Walter Primrose, Gwynn Morrison stole dead babies’ identities, have past ties to KGB?

United States Coast Guard veteran Walter Glenn Primrose, 67, and his wife Gwynn Darle Morrison, 67, live in Kapolei, Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. She allegedly lived in Romania while it was a Soviet Union country, which is something her attorney Megan Kau denied.

There are faded Polaroids of Primrose and Morrison wearing uniforms of Komitet Gosudarstvennoy Bezopasnosti (KGB), the main security agency for the Soviet Union from March 13, 1954 to December 3, 1991. According to Kau, the couple tried the same jacket on as a joke and posed for photos in it. 

“She wants everyone to know she’s not a spy,” Kau told the Associated Press. “This has all been blown way out of proportion. It’s government overreaching.”

In 1987, Primrose and Morrison lost their house in Nacogdoches, Texas to foreclosure and assumed the identities of Bobby and Montague, respectively. Using the dead babies’ identities, the couple presented themselves to the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) ID card office in the Hawaii National Guard building in Kapolei where they conspired together to execute an application for Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System (DEERS) enrollment form on August 28, 2018.

Why were Walter Primrose and Gwynn Morrison arrested?

On July 22, 2022, Primrose and Morrison were arrested in their residence in Kapolei and were charged with identity theft and conspiring against the government. On July 28, 2022, a judge will decide whether or not the couple should be be held without bond.

Primrose and Morrison were friendly, according to their neighbor Joshua Guieb-Pangan. Shocked by the couple’s recent arrest, the neighbor told Hawaii News Now, “When we would drive by, they’d always give us a wave.”

Morrison was unemployed while Primrose was working as a DOD contractor at the time of their arrest. From 1994 to 2016, he served an avionic electrical technician in the U.S. Coast Guard.
