The Reinado de El Salvador 2022 coronation night will take place at the auditorium of the Fundación Empresarial para el Desarrollo Educativo (FEPADE) in Santa Tecla, El Salvador on August 13, 2022. It is the 15th edition of the national beauty pageant that selects El Salvador’s Miss Universe, Miss World and Miss Intercontinental candidates.
Currently, El Salvador has four Miss Universe placements. Representing the Central American country, Fatima Cuellar finished in the Top 15 at Miss World 2017, marking El Salvador’s first and still only Miss World placement.
El Salvador was represented by Reinado de El Salvador 2021 winners Alejandra Gavidia at Miss Universe 2021, Nicole Alvarez at Miss World 2021 and Fabiola Samayoa at Miss Intercontinental 2021. They were all unplaced.
There are 14 women competing for the Reinado de El Salvador 2022 crowns. After checking their photos, videos and profiles, I believe these will be the five candidates who will make it to the top:

Jennifer Magaña (Ahuachapán)
Jennifer is a Miss World material but some of her competitors seem to be more prepared for this than her. She should match her competitors’ energy and excitement to give herself more chances to win one of the crowns. She actually looks like Miss World 1993 second princess Ruffa Gutierrez.

Mayrena Romano (La Union)
Mayrena is blessed with such a beautiful and expressive face, which means she looks more like an actress than a beauty queen. Her stylists can adjust her hair and makeup to address this. She is likely to win the Miss Photogenic award and is still a strong contender for any of the crowns at stake, especially if she does well in the question-and-answer portion.

Erika Morales (Cuscatlán)
Erika is a Miss Universe material but she looks a little too young. Her glam team can easily address this. Whichever crown she wins, she should focus on social issues with passion in her speeches so that the audience and the judges will see her mature mind behind her girlish look.

Eugenia Ávalos (Usulután)
Eugenia has a flexible beauty. She can do both sweet and fierce. If she gets chosen as El Salvador’s Miss Intercontinental 2022 candidate, she can use her law background to get the attention of the judges and give her country its first Miss Intercontinental crown.

Alejandra Guajardo (Cabañas)
Although she looks like Miss World 2018 Vanessa Ponce, I think Alejandra has what it takes to give El Salvador its fifth Miss Universe placement. She just projects herself in front of the camera like she is competing in a Miss Teen competition. I hope her trainers address this and teach her how to be fierce, especially if she is chosen to compete at Miss Universe 2022.
