Shaun David Lucas is an American man from Texas, United States. He is a former police officer in Wolfe City, Hunt County, Texas.

Before joining the Wolfe City Police Department, Lucas served for less than six months as a jailer for the Hunt County Sheriff’s Department. Here are 13 more things about him:

1. From 2007 to 2016, he lived in Rockwall, Texas. Aside from Rockwall, he also lived in various areas of Texas including Greenville, Forney, Corpus Christi and Lone Oak.
2. In January 2016, he was charged with speeding above 85 mph in a 65 mph zone in Rockwall. He paid a $227 fine.
3. In February 2016, he was cited in Rockwall for violating a driver’s license restriction. He paid a $177 fine.

5. In June 2018, he was stopped in Hunt County and was cited for using glass coating material, a window reducing matter on windows. He paid a fine.

7. On April 14, 2020, he was appointed as a Wolfe City Police Department officer.

As a Wolfe City Police Department officer, he responded to a disturbance call for a possible fight in progress at the 100 block of Santa Fe Street in Wolfe City at approximately 8:24 p.m. on October 3, 2020. He attempted to detain Jonathan Price, who was reportedly involved in the disturbance. He deployed his Taser and discharged his service weapon, which hit Price, who was unarmed. Price was taken to Hunt Regional Medical Hospital in Greenville where he died.
9. On October 4, 2020, the Texas Rangers placed him on administrative leave pending an investigation and charged him with murder based on a warrant issued by 196th District Court Judge Andrew Bench.
