Shaun David Lucas is an American man from Texas, United States. He is a former police officer in Wolfe City, Hunt County, Texas.

Before joining the Wolfe City Police Department, Lucas served for less than six months as a jailer for the Hunt County Sheriff’s Department. Here are 13 more things about him:

  5. In June 2018, he was stopped in Hunt County and was cited for using glass coating material, a window reducing matter on windows. He paid a fine.

  7. On April 14, 2020, he was appointed as a Wolfe City Police Department officer.
  8. As a Wolfe City Police Department officer, he responded to a disturbance call for a possible fight in progress at the 100 block of Santa Fe Street in Wolfe City at approximately 8:24 p.m. on October 3, 2020. He attempted to detain Jonathan Price, who was reportedly involved in the disturbance. He deployed his Taser and discharged his service weapon, which hit Price, who was unarmed. Price was taken to Hunt Regional Medical Hospital in Greenville where he died.
  9. On October 4, 2020, the Texas Rangers placed him on administrative leave pending an investigation and charged him with murder based on a warrant issued by 196th District Court Judge Andrew Bench.
  10. On the evening of October 5, 2020, he was booked into the Hunt County Detention Center in Greenville. Within hours of his arrest, he was released on $1 million bond.
  11. On October 8, 2020, the Wolfe City Police Department fired him.
  12. On September 21, 2022, he took the stand in his own defense during his trial and claimed he shot Price in self-defense.
  13. He was 24 years old when he was found not guilty on September 22, 2022 of murder in the shooting death of Price.
