Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir, 33, of Fribourg, Switzerland and Dominick “The Devastator” Reyes, 32, of Victorville, California, United States are the first two opponents Procházka defeated in the UFC. Procházka knocked out Oezdemir at “UFC 251” in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on July 12, 2020 and knocked out Reyes via spinning back elbow at “UFC Vegas 25” in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on May 1, 2021.
Procházka dethroned then UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Glover Teixeira, 42, of Sobrália, Minas Gerais, Brazil and Danbury, Connecticut, United States at “UFC 275” at the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore on June 11, 2022. The Czech challenger submitted the Brazilian-American champion via rear-naked choke.
On December 10, 2022, Teixeira will challenge Procházka at “UFC 282” at the T-Mobile Arena in Paradise, Nevada. It is the Czech MMA fighter’s first title defense as the reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion.
The rematch between Procházka and Teixeira is currently the only confirmed bout on the “UFC 282” card. It is Teixeira’s 23rd UFC fight.
Currently based in Brno, Procházka was born in Znojmo, Czech Republic, which was then part of Czechoslovakia. He currently holds a professional MMA record of 29 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw.
