Dorel Radu, 43, was born in Bucharest, Romania. He entered the United States at an unknown date, time or location without being admitted or paroled by an immigration officer while he was wanted in his home country for attempted homicide.
On December 6, 2019, the Bucharest Tribunal issued an arrest warrant for Radu. During a targeted enforcement operation on October 13, 2022, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers arrested the Romanian citizen without incident in Northridge, Los Angeles, California, USA.
Currently, Radu is wanted by the government of Romania for the offense of attempted murder. He will remain in ICE custody pending removal proceedings with the Executive Office for Immigration Review (EOIR) of the U.S. Department of Justice.
The EOIR administers the immigration court system, which decides whether an individual charged with violating immigration law should be allowed to stay in the U.S. or not. The office is based in Falls Church, Virginia, USA.
In 1908, settlers of the Northridge area named the place Zelzah, which was renamed North Los Angeles in 1929. In 1938, it was renamed Northridge Village, which eventually became simply Northridge.
Golfer Brian Vranesh, 44, synchronized swimmer Brooke Abel, 34, and football player Casey Matthews, 33, were born in Northridge. The neighborhood is home to Northridge Fashion Center and California State University, Northridge.
