Team Lakay’s Geje Eustaquio to fight China’s Hu Yong at ‘ONE 164’ in Pasay City, Philippines

Geje “Gravity” Eustaquio, 33, of Baguio City, Philippines is one of the Igorot mixed martial artists on the “ONE 164” card. Training out of Team Lakay in La Trinidad, Benguet, Philippines, he has been competing in ONE Championship since 2021.

“ONE 164” will be held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on December 3, 2022. It is the first ONE Championship event to be held in the country since the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic lockdowns started in March 2020 across the globe.

One of the “ONE 164” bouts is a flyweight match between Eustaquio and “Wolf Warrior” Hu Yong (胡勇), 26, of Beijing, China. The Chinese MMA fighter is training out of Fighting Bros Club in Beijing.

Hu Yong (China)

Hu made his professional MMA debut on September 8, 2016. After four ONE Heroes Series victories in 2019, he went on hiatus in 2020.

When Hu made his ONE Championship debut on February 26, 2021, he defeated “Y2K” Yodkaikaew Fairtex, 31, of Pattaya, Thailand via unanimous decision. On December 3, 2021, the Chinese MMA fighter had his first loss in the promotion after losing via unanimous decision to Yuya “Little Piranha” Wakamatsu, 27, of Tokyo, Japan.

Hu holds a professional MMA record of 9 wins and 4 losses. On the other hand, Eustaquio has 14 wins and 8 losses.

Currently, Eustaquio and Adriano “Mikinho” Moraes, 33, of Federal District, Brazil are the MMA fighters with the most ONE Championship wins with 11 each. They are both a former ONE Flyweight World Champion.

“ONE 164” marks Eustaquio’s comeback after two years. He knocked out Toni “Dynamite” Tauru, 37, of Utti, Finland on November 8, 2019 and defeated “Double Hearts” Min Jong Song, 30, of Ilsan, South Korea via unanimous decision on October 30, 2020.

In the main event event of “ONE 164”, Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks, 29, of Detroit, Michigan, United States will challenge ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua “The Passion” Pacio, 26, of Baguio City. The defending champion is Eustaquio’s Team Lakay teammate.
