Fredrick Gamble Jr., 26, of Helena-West Helena, Phillips County, Arkansas, USA is the boyfriend of Nicole Rohrscheib, 42, of Lexa, Phillips County. His mother Cynthia Sparks, 47, is a former Helena-West Helena Police Department officer.
Aside from Helena-West Helena, Gamble has lived in other parts of Arkansas including Jonesboro. Aside from Lexa, Rohrscheib has lived in other parts of Arkansas including Barton and Poplar Grove.
On October 5, 2022, Gamble took to Facebook to pay tribute to his mother on her birthday. On October 24, 2022, he took off from a traffic stop.
On October 25, 2022, Gamble took to Facebook to claim that he had been kidnapped. He wrote, “Help Me Please I Was Jus Kidnapped Walking In Helena I’m In The Back Of A Gray Van These Guys Pulled Guns On Me & Forced Me Inside Couldn’t See Tags Only First 3 Please Help Me ASAP Dont Know Where I’m At At The Moment Jus Someone Please Help Dont Know How Long I Have License Plates Starts With AE3 Thats All I Seen Get Hell ASAP Love Yall ”
Upon reading the post, Sparks went to the Helena-West Helena Police Department to report Gamble missing. While authorities were investigating, they received information that her son was at a house in Helena-West Helena.
Helena-West Helena Police Department officers and Phillips County Sheriff’s Office deputies executed a search warrant on the house. They found Gamble inside the house with Rohrscheib, determined the kidnapping was a hoax and arrested the two.
Gamble was charged with filing a false report, possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance, fleeing, defective equipment, driving on a suspended driver’s license, careless and prohibited driving and three counts of failure to stop at a stop sign. Some of the charges are a result of the traffic stop that he took off from.
Rohrscheib was charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution. A bond hearing for her and Gamble is scheduled on October 26, 2022.
