During the riot, he forcibly dragged Metropolitan Police Department officer Michael Fanone into the riotous mob, isolating the officer as the crowd violently assaulted the officer.

For his participation in the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6, 2021, he was charged with obstruction of an official proceeding and aiding and abetting; civil disorder; assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers; entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds; disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds; impeding ingress and egress in a restricted building or grounds; engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds; impeding passage through the U.S. Capitol grounds or buildings and acts of physical violence in the U.S. Capitol grounds or buildings.
8. On May 6, 2022, he pleaded guilty to assaulting Fanone.
9. On October 27, 2022, U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson sentenced him to 90 months in prison, three years of supervised release and restitution to be determined later by the Court. 
10. He was 43 years old and engaged to his two daughters’ mother when he was sentenced on October 27, 2022 to 7 years and 6 months in prison.
