Dennis D. Dubose of Farmville, Virginia, United States has died. He was 25.
At 7:25 p.m. on October 30, 2022, Farmville Police Department officers responded to reports of shots being fired inside a residence in Farmville. When they entered the residence, they found Dubose with multiple gunshot wounds.
Dubose was pronounced dead at the scene. Throughout the night, the officers remained at the scene to interview witnesses and gather evidence.
Warrants were issued for the arrest of Tai’Juan Williams, 20, of Prospect, Prince Edward County, Virginia as a result of the investigation. The Buckingham County Sheriff’s Office, the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, the Hampden-Sydney College Police Department, the Longwood University Police Department, the Prince Edward County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police and the Virginia Department of Corrections all assisted in the investigation.
At 3:00 p.m. on October 31, 2022, Williams was arrested in Buckingham County, Virginia without incident. He was charged with first-degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
Prospect is an unincorporated community in Prince Edward County. Farmville is the county seat of Prince Edward County.
Farmville is home to Longwood University. Since 1978, the town has been hosting the Heart of Virginia Festival every first weekend of May.
