Yanet Leal Concepcion, 35, of Homestead, Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States and her former husband Jorge Gabriel Morales, 45, have a son name Jojo Morales, 6. Jorge is the son of Lillian Pena Morales, 68.
Jojo has autism. On August 27, 2022, he was picked up from Homestead by Lillian as part of a court-ordered time sharing with Jorge.
Violating a custody agreement, Jorge failed to return Jojo to Yanet. While Yanet reported her son missing, Lillian allegedly helped Jorge kidnap the boy.

Jorge and Jojo later traveled to Canada. With a plan to live off the grid in a remote area, the father built a cabin in Canada for himself and his son.
On October 30, 2022, a woman recognized Jojo and Jorge in a Walmart in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada. She immediately called police.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police arrested Jorge and Lillian. They were each charged with interfering with custody and concealing a minor contrary to a court order.
On November 1, 2022, Jojo was flown into Miami International Airport in Miami, Miami-Dade County, Florida. He was reunited with his mother.
