Johnson County Sheriff’s Office, Franklin Police Department arrest 20 men from Alabama, Indiana, Washington and West Virginia

The Franklin Police Department in Franklin, Johnson County, Indiana, United States and the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office executed a child sex sting operation in Indiana from November 1-3, 2022.

Those days, officers posed as underage children online and agreed to meet with the potential offenders at a specified location.

After responding to the posts, some men traveled to Indiana from different states including Alabama, Washington and West Virginia to meet with the supposed minors. Some of them even brought firearms, drugs, alcoholic beverages and other items.

As a result of the operation, a total of 20 men from were arrested. Here is the list of arrestees:

Some of the arrestees wanted to have the minor leave and go elsewhere to have a sexual encounter. Among the 20 arrestees, 13 have bonded out.

It was the fourth time the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin Police Department conducted a child sex sting operation. The first one in December 2020 resulted in 10 arrested.

Eight were arrested in the second sting in April 2021. In May 2022, the third sting ended with 11 arrests.

Franklin is the county seat of Johnson County. The city was named after Pennsylvania’s sixth president Benjamin Franklin.

Steve Barnett is the incumbent mayor of Franklin. The late actors Andrew Duggan, Forrest Tucker, Hal Fryar and Max Terhune were born in the city.
