“They did locate one individual who we believe to be the suspect inside,” Colorado Springs Police Department lieutenant Pamela Castro stated. “At this point in time, the suspect is being treated but is in custody.”

The suspect is Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22. Using a long rifle, he opened fire as soon as he entered Club Q that evening.

Patrons stopped and disarmed Aldrich. The Colorado Springs Police Department has yet to release the gunman’s mugshot.

“Club Q is devastated by the senseless attack on our community,” Club Q said in a statement. “Our prays and thoughts are with all the victims and their families and friends. We thank the quick reactions of heroic customers that subdued the gunman and ended this hate attack.”
