Anderson Lee Aldrich, 22, of Colorado Springs, El Paso County, Colorado, United States is the son of Tek Experts support engineer Laura Voepel, 45. Her father Randy Greg Voepel, 72, is a former mayor of Santee, California, USA and a former California assemblyman.
A drag show started in Club Q in Colorado Springs started at 9:00 p.m. on November 19, 2022. Just before midnight, Aldrich entered the club.
Wearing a military-style flak jacket, Aldrich was heavily armed. As soon as he entered the club, he used a long rifle to open fire, shooting at least 30 people.
Patrons Richard Fierro, 45, and Thomas James stopped and disarmed Aldrich. At 12:02 a.m. on November 20, 2022, Aldrich was arrested by a Colorado Springs Police Department officer.
