Pflugerville, Texas’s Angela Nuckols shot by Texas DPS trooper

Angela Nuckols of Pflugerville, Travis County, Texas, United States has died. She was 58.

Around noon on November 25, 2022, Nuckols allegedly stole a gray Nissan Altima. Round Rock Police Department officers attempted to stop the car but lost sight of it so they informed the Texas Department of Public Safety.


A Texas DPS trooper found the stolen Nissan Altima and tried to conduct a traffic stop but Nuckols took off. While she was driving the vehicle near Westinghouse and I-35 in Round Rock, Williamson County, Texas, she crashed into a black car, which was being driven by Christopher Santos-Velasquez.

Airbags deployed in the black car. Santos-Velasquez had some bruises and whiplash and was taken to safety.


The Nissan Altima went into a grassy area. When Nuckols got out of the stolen vehicle, she had a weapon in her hand.

The Texas DPS trooper fired at Nuckols. The Pflugerville woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

While the investigation is ongoing, the Texas DPS trooper will be on leave. The trooper’s name has yet to be released.
