Rickey Rene Dancy, 34, of Oakland, California, United States is a former resident of Tucson, Arizona, USA. Just before 8:00 p.m. on November 25, 2022, he stole a Muni bus in the Mission District of San Francisco, California.
There were no passengers on the bus when Dancy stole it. He assaulted the driver so an ambulance was called to tend to the driver’s injuries, which were not life-threatening.
Dancy managed to to drive the Muni bus nearly two miles to 19th Street and Guerrero Street. The bus swerved in the middle of the street, crossed over into the opposite lane and hit 10 cars along the way.
After the bus was stopped, Dancy tried to run away. San Francisco Police Department officers chased him and arrested him.
According to the San Francisco police Department, Dancy was under the influence of drugs. He was booked into the San Francisco County Jail in San Francisco.
The Oakland resident was charged with 17 counts including assault with a deadly weapon that is not a firearm and operating a bicycle without breaks. No court date has been set for him.
