Russia’s Anatoly Malykhin is new ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion, breaks Reinier de Ridder’s undefeated record

Both “Sladkiy” Anatoly Malykhin, 34, of Kemerovo, Russia and “The Dutch Knight” Reinier de Ridder, 32, of Breda, North Brabant, Netherlands entered the ONE Championship cage at “ONE on Prime Video 5” as undefeated mixed martial artists. The Dutch MMA fighter was the martial arts organization’s reigning MMA world champion in the light heavyweight division.

Also known as “ONE Fight Night 5”, “ONE on Prime Video 5” was held at the SM Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City, Metro Manila, Philippines on December 3, 2022. In the main event of the evening, Malykhin challenged the reigning ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion.


Olivier Coste served as the referee. He stopped the title bout after 4 minutes and 35 seconds in the first round and raised the hand of Malykhin, who won via technical knockout via unanimous decision.

The loss downgraded de Ridder’s professional MMA record to 16 wins and 1 loss. He is still the reigning ONE Middleweight Middleweight World Champion.

On the other hand, Malykhin is now a two-division champion as he is also the reigning interim ONE Heavyweight World Champion. He now has 11 wins and 0 loss.


On October 30, 2020, de Ridder became the ONE Middleweight World Champion at “ONE: Inside the Matrix” and successfully defended the title at “ONE: Full Circle” on February 25, 2022 and at “ONE 159” on July 22, 2022. On April 28, 2021, he became the ONE Light Heavyweight World Champion and Malykhin was his first challenger in the division.

Arjan Bhullar, 36, of Canada won the ONE Heavyweight World Championship title on May 15, 2021 and he has yet to defend the title. On February 11, 2022, Malykhin became the interim ONE Heavyweight World Champion.
