Raquan Howard, 23 of Bayview Avenue, Inwood, Manhattan, New York City, New York, United States is wanted for attempted murder in Nassau County, New York. On the morning of January 13, 2023, he was inside a Target in Lawrence, Nassau County.
Officers recognized Howard by the self-checkout register. When they tried to place him under arrest, he became physically combative.
An off-duty Nassau County Police Department officer assisted in apprehending Howard. While resisting arrest, the Inwood resident was violent and combative.
During the course of the arrest, the off-duty officer and another officer sustained injuries. The officers and Howard were transported to local hospitals for treatment.
Howard was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree and resisting arrest. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead, Nassau County.
This is not the first time Howard was arrested. On April 28, 2017, he and two other men allegedly robbed a man, 51, on Wanser Avenue in Inwood.
On July 12, 2017, Howard was arrested at Nassau County Court in Hempstead where he was responding to an unrelated charge. He was charged with robbery in the first degree and robbery in the second degree.
