Katelyn Vinson attended Houston Academy in Dothan, Alabama, United States from 2003 to 2018 and Samford University in Homewood, Alabama from 2018 to 2019. In 2019, she entered the Harbert College of Business of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

On January 10, 2021, Vinson represented Dothan at Miss Alabama USA 2021 at the Auburn Hotel Grand Ballroom in Auburn and competed against 25 other candidates. She was third runner-up to Alexandria Flanigan.

On January 15, 2022, Vinson represented Dothan at Miss Alabama USA 2022 and competed against 33 other candidates at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center of Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She won the title.

Miss Alabama USA 2023 contestants

On January 28, 2023, Vinson will crown her successor at the Jay and Susie Gogue Performing Arts Center of Auburn University in Auburn. It is the 68th edition of the beauty pageant that selects Alabama’s candidate for Miss USA, which selects the Miss Universe candidate of the U.S.
