Lawrence “Larry” Ray is a white man from Piscataway, New Jersey, United States. He was born Lawrence Grecco in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, New York City, New York, USA.

Ray is a former Federal Bureau of Investigation informant. Here are 13 more things about him:

  1. In 1981, he served in the U.S. Air Force for 19 days.
  2. In 1988, he and Teresa Ray got married. Salvatore “Sally Dogs” Lombardi attended the wedding.
  3. In 1989, his daughter Talia Lauren Ray was born.
  4. In 1995, he met New York City Police Department detective Bernie Kerik, who had recently been promoted from being then-New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani’s driver to the director of the New York City Department of Correction’s investigations division. A few years later, he served as Kerik’s best man at his wedding.
  5. In 1997, he and his friends played host to Mikhail Gorbachev when the Russian statesman visited New York. He arranged for Gorbachev to meet Giuliani and Robert De Niro.
  6. In March 2000, federal prosecutors in Brooklyn indicted him and 18 other defendants for their involvement in a securities fraud scheme. He was charged with agreeing to pay a $100,000 bribe to the executive of a bond brokerage on behalf of Edward Garafola. He pleaded guilty to securities fraud.
  7. In 2003, he was sentenced to five years’ probation. In 2004, Teresa filed for divorce.
  8. In 2006, he was arrested after his then-girlfriend accused him of trapping her in their apartment but she later withdrew her complaint so the case was dismissed.
  9. In September 2010, he moved moved into his daughter’s dorm room at Sarah Lawrence College in Yonkers, New York after finishing a prison stint for a securities fraud conviction. He started subjecting a group of college students and other victims to sexual and psychological manipulation and physical abuse.
  10. In 2011, some college students agreed to live with him at his one-bedroom apartment in Manhattan where he started to claim that the students had poisoned and harmed him or his property.
  11. In 2013, he forced three female victims to perform unpaid labor on his stepfather’s house in Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA. 
  12. In April 2022, he was convicted on 15 counts, including racketeering, conspiracy, forced labor, sex trafficking and obstruction of justice.
  13. On January 20, 2023, Judge Lewis J. Liman sentenced him in federal court in Manhattan, New York, New York to 60 years in prison and a lifetime of supervised release. He was ordered to forfeit $2,444,349, the proceeds from the sale of his GoDaddy portfolio, and the resident in Pinehurst where the forced labor took place. He was 63 years old when he received the sentence.
