Benjamin Parke Belser, 36, of Village Green, Baldwin Hills, Los Angeles, California, United States was born in North Carolina, USA. He is 6’5″ tall and he weights 170 pounds.

Before moving to Village Green, Belser lived in San Francisco, California. He also lived in Asheville, North Carolina and Saluda, North Carolina.

On October 14, 2016, Belser registered as a voter in Saluda. He voted during the general elections on November 8, 2016, on November 6, 2018 and on November 3, 2020.

In 2017, Belser started contacting women online and used elaborate ruses to conceal his identity. Using social media and dating applications, he allegedly targeted women in different parts of California including West Los Angeles, Koreatown and Downtown Los Angeles and sexually assaulted them.

To avoid detection, Belser used various aliases. In 2022, the Special Assault Section of the Operations-West Bureau of the Los Angeles Police Department began an investigation against him.

On February 4, 2023, detectives served a search warrant on Belser’s residence in the Village Green community and recovered extensive evidence supporting the investigation. The North Carolina native was arrested.

On February 7, 2023, the office of the Los Angeles County District Attorney filed 12 felony counts against Belser including rape, forced sodomy, forced oral copulation and sexual penetration with a foreign object. Bail for him was set at $6.2 million.

Detectives are still searching for additional information that could connect Belser to unreported crimes. Investigators identified five women whom he assaulted but they believe there are others who have yet to come forward.
