‘Dead Island 2’ release date confirmed; Lee Cronin’s ‘Evil Dead Rise’ stars Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies

Dead Island 2” will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S on April 21, 2023, Dambuster Studios has confirmed. It is the sequel to the video game “Dead Island“, which was released for Windows, PS3 and Xbox 360 on September 9, 2011.

Through Alexa Game Control, “Dead Island 2” players can control aspects of their game via voice activated software. They have six characters to choose from and they can fully customize the abilities of each slayer using the new skill system.

Developed by Dambuster Studios and published by Deep Silver, “Deep Island 2” takes place in an open-world Los Angeles and San Francisco in California, United States. The action role-playing game was originally set to be released on February 3, 2023 but it was delayed to allow additional development time.

Yager Development was hired to develop “Dead Island 2” in 2012 but it was removed from the project in 2015. In 2016, it was replaced by Sumo Digital, which was removed and replaced in 2019 by Dambuster Studios, an internal studio of Deep Silver.

Also on April 21, 2023, “Evil Dead Rise” will hit theaters in the U.S. Lee Cronin wrote and directed the supernatural horror film, the fifth instalment in the “Evil Dead” film series.

On March 15, 2023, “Evil Dead Rise” will make its world premiere at South by Southwest in Austin, Texas, USA. Released by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film will be co-distributed by StudioCanal UK in the United Kingdom.

The main characters in “Evil Dead Rise” were played by Alyssa Sutherland, 40, Lily Sullivan, 28, and Morgan Davies, 21. Also in the cast are Gabrielle Echols, Nell Fisher, Mia Challis, Tai Wano, Jayden Daniels and Billy Reynolds-McCarthy.

Sutherland played Queen Aslaug in “Vikings” from 2013 to 2016. Sullivan is the only on-screen actor in the 2022 sci-fi film “Monolith” and Davies set to play Koby in the live action adaptation of “One Piece“, which is set to premiere on Netflix before 2024.
