- In October 2020, six additional months were added to his probation to allow him to complete the terms of the probation order.

- Shortly after 8:00 p.m. on February 13, 2023, he started opening fire at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, fatally shooting students Alexandria Verner, 21, Brian Fraser, 20, and Arielle Diamond Anderson, 19, and wounding five other students. At 11:35 p.m., he fatally shot himself. He was 43.
