Aaron D’Angelo Washington, 25, of Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama, United States is a married man employed by Holy Family Cristo Rey High School in Birmingham. His wife hails from Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee, USA.
From 2012 to 2016, Aaron attended Chelsea High School in Chelsea, Shelby County, Alabama. He and his wife started dating on December 31, 2016, got engaged on December 5, 2020 and got married in Chattanooga on November 13, 2021.
On August 20, 2022, Holy Family Cristo Rey High School hired Aaron as the assistant coach of the school’s men’s varsity basketball team. On February 22, 2023, he was arrested and booked into the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham.
Currently, Aaron’s total bond is set at $150,000. He was charged with first-degree sodomy, second-degree sodomy, child solicitation by computer/electronic solicitation of a child, enticing a child for immoral purposes, transmitting obscene material to a child, being school employee engaging in sex act or deviant sexual intercourse with a student and being a school employee having sexual contact with a student.
Weeks before Aaron’s arrest, he was suspended by Holy Family Cristo Rey High School. The school contacted the Birmingham Police Department immediately after receiving a report about the assistant basketball coach’s alleged crimes.
Established in 2007, Holy Family Cristo Rey High School combines academic study and a corporate work-study program for students from economically challenged families to enable them to graduate from high school prepare for college. Every student works five full days per month to fund the majority of his or her education.
The school was originally located in Ensley, Birmingham. In 2019, it relocated to Titusville, Birmingham.
