Paul Stephen Zittel, 72, of Ocala, Marion County, Florida, United States never allowed his roommates in his bedroom and office without an escort. Aside from Ocala, he has lived in other parts of Florida including Port Saint Lucie, Stuart and Fort Lauderdale.

In January 2023, detectives were alerted to child sexual abuse material being uploaded to the internet from an address in Ocala, according to the Marion County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies learned Zittel lived in that address.

On February 23, 2023, deputies executed a search warrant at his residence in Ocala. They found more than 220,000 printed photographs of child sexual abuse material arranged in large stacks and boxes in his bedroom and office.

A printer on Zittel’s desk showed signs of heavy use. The printed items, which weighed about 2,600 pounds, a computer and a digital storage device were removed from the residence.

Zittel was arrested and booked into the Marion County Jail in Ocala. His bond was set at $250,000.

On March 28, 2023, Zittel will appear in court. He was charged with 25 counts of possession of child pornography.
