Elizabeth Butry, 28, of Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas, United States previously lived in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas. She is accused of sexually abusing a boy, 13, in February 2023.
At around 11:00 a.m. on March 7, 2023, Riley County Police Department officers arrested Butry. She was charged with one count each of attempted rape and furnishing alcohol to a minor, two counts of contributing to a child’s misconduct and three counts of rape.
The victim was known to Butry, according to the Riley County Police Department. She was booked into the Riley County Jail in Manhattan in lieu of bond pending her first appearance in court.
Since Butry has yet to be convicted, the Riley County Police Department has not released her mugshot. No further information was released due to the nature of her alleged crimes.
Incorporated in 1857, Manhattan is the county seat of Riley County. Settlers from the New England Emigrant Aid Company founded the city as a Free-State town in 1855.
