Natalie Scheublin of Bedford, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, United States was 54 when she died on June 10, 1971.

Scheublin was a housewife while her husband Raymond Scheublin was the president of the Lexington Trust Bank. They have two children together namely Kenneth Scheublin and Carol Scheublin.

Painting was one of Natalie’s hobbies. On June 9, 1971, she and a friend painted pictures in Mount Auburn Cemetery in Cambridge, Middlesex County.

At around 5:30 p.m. on June 10, 1971, Raymond called police immediately after returning from work and finding Natalie’s lifeless body in the basement of their house on Pine Hill Road in Bedford. It appeared she had only been dead a short time.

Natalie was hit in the head with an unknown object and stabbed multiple times with a knife. Her ankles were tied and she was face down on the floor.

Authorities found some blood in one of the bathroom sinks. Nothing was stolen from the house except Natalie’s 1969 Chevy Impala and a paring knife and a pry-bar were missing.

Arthur Louis Massei was 76 when he was arrested at his residence in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts on March 22, 2022. He is accused of binding, stabbing and bludgeoning Natalie to death in the basement of her residence in Bedford on June 10, 1971.

While in the custody of the Middlesex Sheriff’s Office in Billerica, Middlesex County, Massei allegedly started communicating with a woman outside the prison in October 2022 through letters. He allegedly offered to pay her $1,000 to give false testimonies to the prosecution to make it look as though he had been framed.

After authorities found out about the letters, Massei was charged with solicitation to suborn perjury in a capital case, attempted extortion, solicitation to commit usury and threatening to cause physical injury or death. He was arraigned on these additional charges on March 15, 2023.
