Cody Langford‘s grandfather, 73, and grandmother, 70, were trailering a boat with a truck at around 4:00 a.m. on March 19, 2023 when they were stopped at the intersection of Milwaukee Boulevard and Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres, Lee County, Florida, United States. Hundreds of people blocked the entire intersection off and gathered to street race.
After breaking away from the larger group at the intersection, several people surrounded the elderly couple’s truck and boat then hit, punched and kicked the truck. Among them are Saviok Wood, 22, Jairo Zelaya, 22, Mia Perez, 20, Robert Moya, 19, Timothy Gibson, 18, and Armando Cruz, 17.
Before the elderly couple was able to drive away, Cruz allegedly shot once the driver’s side window, hitting the couple. Both victims managed to drive away and received medical help at Gulf Coast Hospital in Lehigh Acres.
Langford’s grandmother was released from the hospital later that day. His grandfather remains in the intensive care unit.
