  2. He owned a construction company based in Conyers.
  3. He lived in Covington with his wife Amber Millard and their four sons and one daughter.
  4. He and Amber had two sons each from previous relationships when they got married.
  5. In 2015, Amber gave birth to their daughter.
  6. On February 22, 2023, he left from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Georgia and flew to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA to check out a possible job site for his construction business. At 7:30 p.m., he talked to Amber via FaceTime while he was at a basketball game at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. At 9:30 p.m., he met a client at Happy’s Irish Pub in Baton Rouge. He left the bar alone at around 11:17 p.m. and met drug dealer “Stanka” Derrick Perkins, then 45, at a Greyhound Bus station in Baton Rouge at 11:30 p.m. Perkins introduced him to two prostitutes namely Tabbetha Lee Barner, then 33, and Tiffany Ann Guidry, then 27.
  7. At 4:24 a.m. on February 23, 2023, he was seen alive on surveillance video at a Circle K on Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge where he and Perkins made a pit stop and stranded Barner and Guidry. Minutes later, he died of an overdose at Perkins’ home on East Washington Street in Baton Rouge. Perkins tried to revive him with Narcan but failed. At 9:00 a.m., his client called the Baton Rouge Police Department to request a welfare check on him because he failed to show up to their meeting and did not respond to messages.
  8. At around 3:34 a.m. on March 6, 2023, his body was found wrapped up in plastic and in a carpet in a vacant lot on Scenic Highway in Baton Rouge. In an interview with WAFB that day, his eldest son Landyn Millard described his as “a good man”.
  9. On March 7, 2023, an autopsy revealed no signs of trauma to his body. He died at age 42.
  10. On March 13, 2023, Perkins was arrested and on March 23, 2023, arrest warrants were issued for Barner and Guidry in connection with his death. On March 24, 2023, Guidry was arrested.
