Palm Beach, Florida’s Daniel Condronimpuno arrested on UC Berkeley campus

Daniel Widyanto Condronimpuno, 34, of Palm Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, United States was allegedly walking his bike when he encountered a woman in her 50s at the California Avenue pedestrian underpass in Palo Alto, Santa Clara County, California, USA on April 9, 2023. He is accused of striking her from behind.

The woman fell to the ground and was sexually assaulted allegedly by Condronimpuno. When she screamed for help, he allegedly stole her cellphone and fled.

At around 2:49 p.m., right after the assault, a passerby saw the woman and called the 24-hour dispatch center of Palo Alto. She suffered bruising to her neck and a laceration to the back of her head.

Paramedics from the Palo Alto Fire Department transported the woman to the hospital. She received a forensic medical examination.

On April 10, 2023, the woman met with a police sketch artist, who produced the sketch of the suspect. The sketch was released to the community.

At about 12:40 p.m. on April 11, 2023, University of California at Berkeley Police Department officers arrested Condronimpuno on Memorial Glade on the University of California at Berkeley campus at Memorial Glade in Berkeley, Alameda County, California. He was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail in San Jose, Santa Clara County, California.

Condronimpuno was charged with eight felonies namely attempted rape by force, sexual penetration by force, assault with intent to commit rape, forcible sexual battery, false imprisonment, felony battery, assault with a deadly weapon and robbery. He is also facing one misdemeanor crime, which is preventing someone from summoning help with a wireless communication device.
