What Emeryville, California’s Nima Momeni did to Cash App founder Bob Lee

St. Louis, Missouri, United States native Bob Lee has died. He was 43.

In January 2010, e-commerce company Square hired Lee. In April 2010, Nima Momeni, now 38, of Emeryville, California, USA founded Expand IT, Inc. in San Francisco, California.

In 2013, Lee developed a mobile payment service called Square Cash. He and Momeni knew each other.

In 2014, Lee left Square. In 2015, Square Cash was renamed as Cash App.

During the new coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which started in 2020, Lee helped develop the app of the World Health Organization. In 2021, he became the chief product officer of cryptocurrency payment firm MobileCoin.

At around 2:30 a.m. on April 4, 2023, Lee was stabbed in Rincon Hill, San Francisco allegedly by Momeni. The Cash App founder was rushed to the hospital where he died from his injuries.

On April 13, 2023, San Francisco Police Department officers arrested Momeni at his residence in Emeryville. He was charged with murder.

On April 14, 2023, Momeni will be arraigned. Prosecutors are expected to ask a judge to hold the Expand IT, Inc. founder without bail.
