Shawn Jackson was a resident of Jonesboro, Clayton County, Georgia, United States. He was the live-in girlfriend of Neworker Hurt, 45, the sister of Shrron Stephan Marchello Ly Hurt, 40.

In 2002, Jackson’s son Nicholas Jackson was born. On March 17, 2019, Shrron was arrested in Riverdale, Boone County, Indiana, USA and charged with domestic battery.

While Shawn and Neworker were together, he reportedly had an affair, which she eventually found out. On the evening of July 31, 2019, she confronted him outside the house of his mistress.

Shawn and Neworker went home where they continued fighting. Later that evening, she allegedly shot him in the head three times while he was asleep then called Shrron to help her get rid of the body.

On the morning of August 1, 2019, Neworker told Nicholas that Shawn left during the night. Later that day, she and Nicholas reported Shawn missing from their home in Jonesboro.

On August 19, 2019, Shawn’s remains were found in a shallow grave in Jefferson County, Alabama, USA. The body was identified as him through fingerprints, clothing and tattoos.

On April 20, 2023, Neworker was arrested at an apartment in Atlanta, Georgia for the murder of Shawn and booked into the Clayton County Jail in Jonesboro while Shrron was in federal prison in West Virginia, USA on unrelated charges. The siblings were each charged with malice murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, tampering with evidence and concealing the death of another person.
