A little peak into my experience at NYICFF! EID MUBARAK, the short film I wrote and directed, had its New York premiere there. My favorite part was when little girls in the audience came up to me to tell me it was their favorite movie 🥲🥹

  1. She was 8 years old when she immigrated from Pakistan to Los Angeles, California, United States.
  2. From 2013 to 2017, she attended the University of California, Los Angeles in Los Angeles where she graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in design and media arts with a minor in film, television and digital media.
  3. In 2015, she studied art and business at Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, England, United Kingdom. She was a creative content intern at Twentieth Century Fox in Los Angeles from June 2015 to August 2015 and a marketing intern at Artlyst in London from September 2015 to December 2015.
  4. From June 2016 to August 2016, she was a design intern at Twentieth Century Fox.
  5. From October 2016 to December 2016, she was a production intern at SOC Films in Karachi, Pakistan.
  6. From March 2017 to May 2017, she was an intern at United Talent Agency in Beverly Hills, California.
  7. From 2018 to 2021, she attended the University of Southern California in Los Angeles where she earned her master’s degree in fine arts with an emphasis in comedy writing and directing and production design.   9. From October 2020 to November 2020, she worked for The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles as an art director.
  10. In April 2022, Creator+ acquired her short film “Eid Mubarak”, which marked her professional directorial debut.
  11. In November 2022, she was a fellow in the Islamic Scholarship Fund’s inaugural Muslim Centered Writers’ Lab with support from Extracurricular and The Black List for her feature film titled “Queen of Diamonds”.
  12. In February 2023, her film “Eid Mubarak” won the Youth Jury, Professional Jury and Audience awards for Best Live-Action Short at the 2023 Children’s Film Festival Seattle in Seattle, Washington, USA.
  13. On April 16, 2023, she, her boyfriend, his white father and his Chinese mother were riding a train from Lake Como in Lombardy, Italy to Milan, Italy when she filmed Italian university students Elisa Tortora, Margherita Gentile and Lucrezia De Vecchis looking in her direction, repeatedly laughing and trying to mimic the Chinese language.
