Bella Fontenelle of Harahan, Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, United States has died. She was 6.
Fontenelle was a kindergartener at St. Matthew the Apostle Catholic School in River Ridge, Jefferson Parish. She has an older sister, 7.
Fontenelle’s parents are separated. Her father lives with his girlfriend Hannah Landon, 43, on Donelon Drive in Harahan, which is near the house of the kindergartener’s mother on Sedgefield Drive.
On June 8, 2021, Landon allegedly attacked Fontenelle’s mother during a confrontation at Riverside Country Club in Harahan. Landon was given a Harahan municipal summons for simple battery.
Because of the incident, Landon filed for a temporary restraining order against Fontenelle’s mother. On August 5, 2021, Judge Lee Faulkner of the 24th Judicial District Court denied a request to make the restraining order permanent.
At 9:35 p.m. on April 25, 2023, cameras of Fontenelle’s neighbor recorded a video of a woman believed to be Landon. While pulling a wagon containing a white bucket, the woman was headed north on Sedgefield Drive in the direction of the house of Fontenelle’s mother.
On the early morning of April 26, 2023, Landon went to the Harahan Police Department and she was sent to a hospital for an evaluation. Later that morning, Fontenelle’s father woke up to discover Landon and his youngest daughter were missing.
At 7:30 a.m., Fontenelle’s father went to the Harahan Police Department. Police officers went to his house, opened a missing person investigation and visited the house of Fontenelle’s mother.
At around 8:20 a.m., Harahan Police Department officers and Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies found a closed 10-gallon chlorine bucket on the front lawn of Fontenelle’s mother’s house. They opened up the bucket and found the girl deceased inside it.
At 2:00 p.m., authorities learned Landon, who also goes by the names Bunnak Lim and Bunnak Landon, was a patient at a hospital. After she is discharge, she would be arrested and charged with first-degree murder and obstruction of justice.
