Angel Roque, 36, is from Beaumont Avenue in the Bronx, New York City, New York, United States. He is accused of attacking a woman, 68.

Just after 6:00 a.m. on April 22, 2023, the elderly woman was waiting to be picked by a friend near Fordham Plaza in the Bronx when she was approached by Roque. The area is also near the intersection of East 189th Street and Webster Avenue in Fordham Heights in the Bronx.

Wearing an orange hoodie and a pair of dark blue jeans, Roque allegedly choked the woman and forced her into a garage. As he dragged her into the garage, bystanders did nothing, according to law enforcement sources.

In the garage, Roque allegedly tried to remove the woman’s clothing but he could not so he forced her to perform oral sex. After the assault, he allegedly ran away from the scene.

The victim was later taken to the hospital for injuries. She is expected to recover.

On the afternoon of April 27, 2023, Roque was arrested. He is facing a variety of rape and sexual abuse charges.

Also from the Bronx, Jose Garcia, 45, was caught on camera bashing a female uniformed New York City Police Department officer over the head with a bottle outside a smoke shop at East 231st Street and Broadway in the Bronx on April 17, 2023. At the time, the officer and the city sheriff were conducting a smoke shop inspection.

With prior 11 arrests, Garcia was ordered back to Rikers Island in the Bronx on April 21, 2023. He was charged with assault, obstruction of government administration, resisting arrest, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment for the attack.
